HULT Z is an event ticketing and management platform that connects event organizers with attendees across Ghana. We serve two primary groups:

  • Event Organizers: Individuals and organizations who create, manage, and promote events using our platform
  • Ticket Buyers (Consumers): Individuals who discover and purchase tickets to events through our platform

As an intermediary platform, we facilitate ticket sales and event management while prioritizing the security and privacy of all users' personal information. We process payments securely through Paystack and deliver tickets instantly via email with QR codes.

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of HULT Z, whether you are browsing events, purchasing tickets, or organizing events on our platform.

1. Information We Collect

Information Collected From Ticket Buyers (Consumers)

When you purchase tickets or use our platform as a consumer, we collect:

  • Contact Information: Name, email address, phone number
  • Payment Information: Credit/debit card details, mobile money information (processed securely through Paystack)
  • Event Preferences: Events you've attended, ticket purchase history, favorite event categories
  • Communication Preferences: Newsletter subscriptions, notification settings

Information Collected From Event Organizers

If you create and manage events on HULT Z, we additionally collect:

  • Business Information: Organization name, business address, tax identification numbers
  • Financial Information: Bank account details for payouts, billing information
  • Event Data: Event details, attendee lists, ticket sales data, revenue information
  • Identity Verification: Government-issued ID, proof of address (for compliance purposes)

Automatically Collected Information

When you access our platform, we automatically collect:

  • Device Information: IP address, device type, operating system, browser type and version
  • Usage Data: Pages visited, time spent on pages, click patterns, search queries
  • Location Data: Approximate geographic location based on IP address
  • Cookies and Tracking: Session data, preferences, analytics information

Information From Third-Party Sources

We may receive information about you from:

  • Payment Processors: Transaction confirmations and payment status from Paystack
  • Event Organizers: Attendee information shared by event creators
  • Social Media: If you connect your social media accounts or interact with us on social platforms
  • Marketing Partners: Information from our advertising and analytics partners
  • Credit Reporting Agencies: For fraud prevention and risk assessment (organizers only)

Social Media Integration

If you connect your HULT Z account to social media platforms or interact with us on social media, we may collect your public profile information, including your name, profile picture, email address, and any content you share or comments you make. You can control what information is shared through your social media privacy settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Process Transactions: To process your ticket purchases and send you confirmation emails with QR codes
  • Customer Service: To respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
  • Communications: To send you event updates, newsletters, and promotional materials (you can opt-out anytime)
  • Platform Improvement: To analyze usage patterns and improve our services
  • Security: To detect, prevent, and address fraud, security issues, and technical problems
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of service

3. Payment Information Security

We take payment security seriously:

  • All payment transactions are processed through Paystack, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor
  • We do not store your complete credit card information on our servers
  • Payment data is encrypted using industry-standard SSL/TLS protocols
  • We only retain transaction references and confirmation details necessary for customer service

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Event Organizers: We share attendee information with event organizers for ticket validation and event management purposes
  • Service Providers: We work with trusted third-party service providers (e.g., Paystack for payments, email service providers) who assist in operating our platform
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to:

  • Provide you with our services
  • Comply with legal obligations (e.g., tax and accounting requirements)
  • Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements

Ticket purchase records are retained for a minimum of 7 years for accounting and legal compliance purposes.

We may send you marketing communications about events, promotions, and features that we think may interest you. You have control over these communications:

  • Promotional Emails: You can opt-out of promotional emails at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any marketing email
  • Transactional Emails: You cannot opt-out of transactional emails (e.g., ticket confirmations, payment receipts) as these are necessary for the service
  • Event Updates: Event organizers may send you updates about events you've registered for; you can manage these preferences in your account settings
  • Push Notifications: You can control push notifications through your device settings

Even if you opt-out of marketing communications, we may still send you important service-related messages.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time
  • Data Portability: Request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format

Our services may be used to purchase tickets for events that are attended by individuals under the age of 13. However, HULT Z does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

All ticket purchases and account registrations must be completed by a parent, guardian, or another authorized adult. Any personal information relating to minors is provided solely by the adult purchaser for the purpose of ticket issuance and event management.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child's personal information has been provided to us improperly, please contact us, and we will take appropriate steps to delete or anonymize such information where legally permissible.

11. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than Ghana. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. By using our services, you consent to the transfer of your information to our facilities and service providers located around the world.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of any material changes by:

  • Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy
